"The Central Florida Lyric Opera's Resident Artist Training Program has nurtured our aspiring mezzo in musicality, confidence and performance.  Bill Doherty's staff of technical and artistic opera professionals as well as his personal mentoring and skills as a passionate teacher, coach and pianist combine in a setting that allows young performers to thrive in their profession.

Thank you for all you do for these young developing performers."

Warmly,

Letter From :  James and Susan Bell
Parents of Katie and Christie Bell
Central Florida Lyric Opera
Resident Artist Training Program

"Our two daughters have been under the instruction of Bill Doherty for almost seven years - first in his Young Artist Training Program and later in the Resident Artist Training Program.  His masterful vocal training has developed their strengths and has inspired them with the confidence to perform well beyond their years.  He has a unique way of inspiring and challenging them to accomplish what they themselves might not have thought possible.

The Resident Artist Training Program has provided our daughters with a love of the operatic repertoire and a solid musical foundation which they will build upon for the rest of their lives as they pursue their careers as singers.  We have no doubt that our daughters have developed their potential and excelled vocally due to the instruction of Bill Doherty and the training they receive through theCentral Florida Lyric Opera's Resident Artist Training Program.  The study and performance opportunities he has given these young singers both here in Florida and in Europe have been unbelievable!

In addition, I must also say that Bill Doherty's love of music is infectious!  Our whole family has developed an appreciation for opera because of him!

Most Sincerely,
James and Susan Bell

Letter from Kathy and Kevin McMonigle
Parents of Kaitlyn McMonigle
Central Florida Lyric Opera
Young Artist Training Program

“Our 15-year old daughter, Kaitlyn McMonigle, has been studying voice with Bill Doherty for a little over two years now.  Within this short period of time, she has advanced to a level as a singer and performing artist which has far exceeded our expectations.   Certainly Kaitlyn has the talent, passion, focus and drive, but Bill Doherty has the expertise as a vocal instructor, world-class musician, and inspirational mentor to help Kaitlyn master the techniques of classical singing that are necessary for her success in a career in vocal performance.

Bill Doherty has a passion, dedication, and professionalism that reflects in his teaching, and his experience as a professional performer himself on a national and international level has given Kaitlyn invaluable insights and opportunities that might otherwise not be accessible to her at this young age.  She has already performed with other highly respected professionals in concerts and operas as a result of her affiliation with Mr. Doherty’s Central Florida Lyric Opera's Young Artist Training Program (YATP).

The highpoint in Kaitlyn’s participation in the Young Artist Training Program was a recent trip to Paris, France with Mr. Doherty where she participated in a Master Class with Madame Carole Bajac at the Conservatoire Leo Delibes, Ville de Clichy-La-Garenne, France and later performed at the prestigious Le Bibouquet Club in Paris.  It was an opportunity of a lifetime – an experience which she will remember for the rest of her life.   In addition, it helped to reinforce her commitment to pursue a career as a professional opera singer.

We highly recommend the Central Florida Lyric Opera's Young Artist Training Program to any serious young, talented artist who is looking to expand their horizons and skills as a singer and performance artist in an atmosphere which is motivating, inspiring, and highly professional.”

Sincerely,
Kathy and Kevin McMonigle
